Ceramic Pro Paint Protection Film

Paint Protection Film (PPF) is a clear, self-healing urethane film applied to your vehicle’s painted surfaces to protect against rock chips, scratches, road debris, and environmental damage. We install Ceramic Pro Paint Protection Film, which uses advanced thermoplastic urethane technology designed for long-term clarity and durability in real-world driving conditions.

Yes — PPF is one of the best investments you can make for a vehicle in the Kansas City metro. Between highway construction debris, gravel, and Midwest weather, painted surfaces here take more daily punishment than most markets. PPF preserves your paint and protects resale value, especially on new vehicles, luxury cars, or anything you plan to keep long-term.

Yes. Ceramic Pro Paint Protection Film has a self-healing topcoat that allows minor surface scratches and swirl marks to disappear on their own with heat — either from the sun or warm water. Deeper impacts into the film itself protect the paint beneath but won’t self-heal, which is exactly how the film is designed to work.

Lower-quality PPF can yellow or discolor over time, but Ceramic Pro Paint Protection Film is engineered to resist yellowing, staining, and UV degradation. Our film maintains optical clarity for the life of the warranty.

Yes. PPF can be cleanly removed without damaging factory paint when it’s removed properly and within the product’s service life. This makes it a non-permanent investment — you protect the paint while the film is on, and the original finish is preserved when it comes off.

Ceramic Pro PeelClear is a sprayable, peelable protective coating that applies over your vehicle’s paint like a film but goes on as a liquid. It protects the original finish from light scratches, scuffs, and environmental contamination — and when you’re ready, it peels off cleanly without damaging the paint underneath. PeelClear is ideal for temporary protection during transport, storage, track days, or any situation where you want a removable barrier without committing to permanent PPF.

PeelClear is a sprayable coating that peels off — PPF is a pre-cut urethane film that’s applied panel by panel. PPF offers significantly stronger impact and chip protection and is designed for long-term daily driving. PeelClear is better suited for temporary or situational protection where flexibility and easy removal matter more than maximum impact resistance. Both are available at Detail Auto KC.

A full front kit covers the areas most exposed to road debris — the hood, front bumper, fenders, mirrors, and A-pillars. Full car PPF wraps every painted panel on the vehicle. Most drivers in daily use opt for full front; those who want complete long-term paint preservation or are protecting a collector vehicle typically choose full car.

PPF provides physical protection against rock chips, scratches, and road debris by acting as a sacrificial barrier over your paint. Ceramic coating provides chemical protection — it bonds to the surface and repels water, UV rays, and contaminants while making the vehicle easier to maintain. The two are complementary, and our Ultimate Armor package combines both for complete protection.

Ceramic Pro Paint Protection Film carries a 10-year warranty against defects, yellowing, and delamination. With proper care, the film maintains performance and clarity throughout that period.

Ceramic Pro Paint Coatings

A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that chemically bonds to your vehicle’s painted surface, forming a semi-permanent protective layer. It provides UV protection, hydrophobic water-repelling properties, resistance to chemical stains, and significantly easier long-term maintenance. We install the full line of Ceramic Pro coatings, including ION — an Elite Dealer exclusive.

Ceramic coating is worth it if you want to preserve your vehicle’s finish, reduce how often you wash it, and protect against UV fade and environmental contamination. For drivers in Overland Park, Leawood, and Mission Hills who want their vehicle looking sharp with minimal effort, it’s one of the highest-ROI detailing investments available.

Ceramic Pro coatings range from 1-year Sport packages to lifetime-warranted ION and Gold packages. Our Bronze and Silver packages carry 2-year and 5-year warranties respectively; Gold and ION packages carry a lifetime warranty backed by Ceramic Pro.

Ceramic coating adds hardness and scratch resistance to the surface, but it is not a substitute for PPF when it comes to rock chips and deep scratches. Coating will help resist light swirl marks and surface scratches during washing, but PPF is the correct solution for impact protection.

Yes — and this is actually the recommended approach for maximum protection. Ceramic coating applied over PPF enhances the hydrophobic performance of the film, makes it easier to clean, and adds UV resistance on top of the physical protection the film already provides. Our Ultimate Armor package is built exactly this way.

Ceramic Pro ION is an advanced coating technology exclusive to Ceramic Pro Elite Dealers. It uses ionic bond technology to achieve a deeper, more durable connection with the surface compared to standard ceramic coatings. ION is available only through Elite Dealer locations like Detail Auto KC — it cannot be purchased at regular detailers.

A Ceramic Pro Elite Dealer is the highest tier of certified installer in the Ceramic Pro network. Elite Dealers undergo advanced training, maintain strict installation standards, and have access to exclusive products — including Ceramic Pro ION, Ultimate IR window film, and Gardstrike ballistic protection — that are not available through standard dealers. Detail Auto KC is one of the few Elite Dealers in the Kansas City metro.

Ceramic Pro Window Tint

In Kansas, the legal visible light transmission (VLT) limit is 35% on front side windows. Rear side windows and the rear window can be any darkness on non-passenger vehicles; on passenger vehicles, rear windows must also be 35% or more. Windshield tinting is only permitted above the AS-1 line. We ensure every installation is legal and compliant.

Carbon tint blocks heat through carbon particles and provides good UV rejection without interfering with electronic signals. Ceramic tint uses non-metallic ceramic particles to deliver higher infrared heat rejection, better signal clarity (important for GPS, phone, and dash cams), and superior long-term color stability. Ceramic tint is the premium option for heat reduction and longevity.

Ceramic window tint provides high infrared heat rejection, blocks 99.9% of UV rays, reduces interior glare, and keeps cabin temperatures significantly lower in summer. Unlike metallic films, it does not interfere with phone signals, GPS, or radar detectors. For Kansas City summers, ceramic tint is the most effective way to improve in-cabin comfort.

Ultimate IR is an Elite Dealer exclusive window film available only through Ceramic Pro Elite locations. It delivers the highest level of infrared heat rejection available in our tint lineup — significantly outperforming standard ceramic films — while maintaining excellent clarity and a clean appearance. It is backed by a lifetime warranty.

Flat glass window tint is installed on residential and commercial windows — not vehicles. It reduces interior heat and glare, improves energy efficiency, blocks UV rays that damage flooring and furniture, and can add privacy without sacrificing natural light. We install Solar Gard architectural films for homes and commercial buildings across the Kansas City metro.

Yes. We install commercial window film on offices, storefronts, and large buildings throughout Kansas City and Overland Park. Commercial films help reduce energy costs, improve employee comfort, and cut glare on screens and workspaces.

Process, Scheduling and Aftercare

Automotive window tint is typically a same-day service. Partial PPF installs take 1–2 days; full front PPF runs 2–3 days. Full protection packages like Ultimate Armor take 3–5 or more days depending on the vehicle. Flat glass projects vary by size and scope. We offer drop-off service for your convenience.

You should wait at least 48–72 hours after PPF installation before washing your vehicle. During this period, avoid high-pressure water, automated car washes, and anything that could lift the film edges while the adhesive is still fully curing. We provide complete aftercare instructions at pickup.

After ceramic coating, avoid washing for at least 5–7 days to allow the coating to fully cure. Once cured, use pH-neutral car wash soap, avoid automated tunnel washes with harsh brush contact, and skip abrasive polishes or clay bars — those will degrade the coating. Regular maintenance washes every 2–4 weeks are all that’s needed to keep the coating performing properly.

No. Our installations do not void manufacturer warranties. PPF, ceramic coatings, and window tint are additive protective services — they do not modify your vehicle’s mechanical systems or anything covered under a factory warranty. We follow installation standards that protect both your vehicle and your warranty coverage.

A Ceramic Pro warranty can be voided by using abrasive polishing compounds on the coated surface, failing to follow the prescribed aftercare guidelines, or having the coating removed and reapplied by an uncertified installer. Registering your warranty through Ceramic Pro’s system at time of installation is required to keep coverage active — we handle that as part of your service.
